As an Australian Physiotherapy Association Titled Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with over 29 years of clinical experience, Michael is a highly qualified physiotherapist with expert knowledge and skills in all areas of musculoskeletal practice.

Michael graduated from the University of Sydney in 1995 and then worked in the public health system for 4 years in Australia and the UK. From 1999 to 2001, he was a physiotherapist for the Wests Tigers Rugby League Club, and in 2002 became an associate partner of a busy private practice where he regularly worked with high-level triathletes, cyclists and distance runners.

In 2009, Michael returned to the UK to work as an Extended Scope Practitioner. His expertise was sought on complex musculoskeletal cases and his practice extended beyond the recognised scope of general physiotherapy practice. In 2011, Michael completed his master’s degree in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at The University of Western Australia, where he received the prize for top student in Rehabilitation Science.

From October 2015 to 2017, Michael worked in Hong Kong and his focus was on the management of clients’ sports and general musculoskeletal injuries, and the rehabilitation of clientele following sports-related orthopaedic surgery. He worked closely with referring surgeons to optimise his clients’ rehabilitation outcomes and their return to sports goals.

In January 2018, Michael moved to Singapore and continued to develop and refine his clinical expertise while working in one of Singapore's busiest private practices. During this time, he provided mentorship to his fellow work colleagues and formal education to the wider Singapore physiotherapists community via seminars and lectures.

In 2019, Michael completed The International Olympic Committee (IOC) Diploma in Sports Physical Therapies. Conducted by the IOC in Lausanne, Switzerland, this course has further developed Michael’s skills in sports injury management.

Formerly an NRL-grade rugby league player in Sydney, Michael practices what he preaches and is dedicated to his health and fitness. Upon hanging up his boots, his focus shifted to triathlon, then distance running, and now road cycling. He also continues to enjoy a rigorous regime of high-intensity strength training.

In December 2022, Michael was awarded the Membership of the prestigious Australian College of Physiotherapists. This is a formal recognition of the attainment of a highly developed level of competency and expertise in the areas of musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy practice.
