Preparing for a HYROX competition requires a strategic approach that combines physical training, nutrition, and recovery. Here are some key tips to help you get ready:
1. Understand the Format
Familiarise yourself with the HYROX competition structure, which includes a 1 km run followed by functional workouts. There are eight workout stations. The individual stations are: (1) SkiErg, (2) Sled Push, (3) Sled Pull, (4) Burpee Broad Jumps, (5) Rowing, (6) Farmers Carry, (7) Sandbag Lunges, and (8) Wall Balls.
The running course will lead around the workout stations. Depending on the location, athletes will run multiple laps to complete one kilometre. Both the running track and the individual workout stations are separated from each other.
